About Me
This page is pretty much self-explanatory.
Who?
Hello, there. My name is Christopher J.M. Serrano. Computer engineer and software developer.
What?
I currently specialize in native Android development, but I occasionally dabble in server management, backend development and some web tinkering. Don’t take the part after “Android development” too seriously, though. My main focus is and will always be mobile.
Why?
When I was a little kid I wanted to be a pianist, but we couldn’t afford piano lessons (there weren’t any piano teachers where I lived back then, either), so when I grew up I settled with computer stuff. Computers do come with a keyboard and you can make music with them, after all.
Just kidding. I just wanted to study computer science/engineering after reading “Jurassic Park” by Michael Crichton. And no, it’s not a joke.
How?
When I was in college I slept during classes pretty much 80% of the time and learned through osmosis, or at least that’s what my former classmates often will tell anyone.
Now, if you mean my job, well, I do have all the necessary tools for Android development. Except a bucketful of devices, I barely have 2 phones. I seriously can’t be bothered to burn money buying phones I know will break down after so much application building, deployment, profiling and debugging.
Where?
I’m currently located in Caracas, Venezuela, so most, if not all, of my work is done remotely. I’ll consider relocation if the economic incentive is high enough, all the legal paperwork is promptly done and plane tickets are guaranteed, though.
Eh?
That’s all. If you need to know more, you can head over the cv page to read a bit more of my professional experience and download the pdf version with more detail, or hit me up via email. There’s also the contact page for more links and wotnot.
